Short bio

Jörn Christiansson is Associate Professor in Interaction Design at the Digital Design Department at IT University of Copenhagen, Denmark. He was PI in the recently closed Nordic research project CAPE – Civic Agency in Public E-service Innovation (financed by NordForsk). His research focus is on co-design and participatory design, particularly exploring design approaches for civic engage- ment and empowerment of digitally vulnerable user groups in public sector digitalization.

Longer bio

Jörn Christiansson is Associate Professor in Interaction Design at IT University of Copenhagen.

His current research focus is Digital Civics, Co-design and Participatory Design (PD), specifically community-based PD and civic agency in public sector digitalisation. He has earlier done research in Interaction Design, specifically mobile and ubiquitous computing, and place-centric computing. He completed his PhD in informatics (2000) in the field of computer supported collaborative learning.

Jörn has supervised 2 PhD-students (one current), co-supervised 2 PhD-students and acted as examiner/opponent for 6 PhD-thesis. He has examined 50+ master’s theses and taught master level university courses since 1995, and bachelor level university courses since 1990. He has been associated with the influential two-year master’s program in Interaction Design at Malmö University since its founding in 1998 and until 2010.
