Profile
I am a design researcher in the fields of Participatory Design and Co-design. My current research focus is on co-design, infrastructuring and institutioning in the public sector.
Current
I’m on sabbatical during 2024 at University of Sydney, where I am affiliated with the Civic and Social Design Research Group at School of Architecture, Design and Planning.
Some concepts and ideas that tickle my interests at the moment are things like:
institutioning (and the debates following Huybrechts’s seminal paper)
new takes on public sector design (with DiSalvo’s latest book as a good example)
ideas developed from the notion of design things as proposed by me former colleague Pelle Ehn, and further relations between design and ANT (Latour etc)
Recent projects
I recently closed a project with the title CAPE – Civic Agency in Public E-service innovation – which I headed as PI. The project was a Nordic collaboration financed by Nordforsk in the period 2020–2023 with partners in Denmark, Sweden and Finland. In the project we explored new models for organising civic engagement in design of public e-services with public libraries as a platform.
